Resident Evil 5 is also known as Biohazard 5 in Japan which is a survival horror video game like the upcoming game Dead Rising 2. The game was published by Capcom and is the 7th installment of the Resident Evil series. Last March 5, 2009 this Xbox 360 game was released in Japan and was released in Europe and North America last March 13, 2009. The game is available for PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows Platform. The lead characters are Sheva Alomar and Chris Redfield and is set on a fictitious place on Africa known as Kijuju.

The game was able to sell more than 2M of units on its first 2 weeks after its release then in UK it became the top-selling game of the franchise. Now, it has sold more than 5M copies all over the world and is the best selling game of the series having a single title.

This new Xbox 360 game is similar with Resident Evil 4 having great cut scenes and context-sensitive controls. The lead characters can be controlled by the player in the same manner Leon S. Kennedy is controlled in Resident Evil 4. The only difference is that there will be additional controls applied to the lead characters. A new feature added to this game is the ability of the player to play Mercenaries minigame online with the help of a patch.
